SAFESIDE

Système d'Analyse de Feux et Emanations par Spectroscopie Infrarouge à Distance et Embarquée

Safeside

Objective of the project

The aim of the project SAFESIDE is to develop new portable and remote spectroscopic characterization solutions to detect the nature of gases in the air with, in particular, the application of the measurement of fire smoke or uncontrolled discharge on risk sites or on an accident site when transporting a hazardous substance.

At the end of the project we want to have systems that are transportable and allow the analysis of gas at short distances and distances of the order of 200 meters without contact. The systems will have been validated by extensive testing campaigns that will determine their robustness according to the accident scenario (type of compounds involved, weather conditions, etc.). The final devices will be made available to the different teams involved in the project on each side of the border. An awareness campaign will be carried out in particular at industrial sites, intervention services ….

Besides the funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF, European Union), Multitel receives a co-funding from Wallonia.

Contribution of Multitel

To achieve the goals, Multitel’s actions consist in coordinating tasks between the project’s partners, performing several stages of development and measurement in laboratory or on site and eventually communicating to external audience, in particular, to the potential beneficiaries and the users of the technology.
