Laser equipment ASsessment for High impAct innovation in the manufactuRing European industry
Objective of the project
LASHARE develops a robust assessment framework for innovative laser equipment paving the way for new manufacturing applications. It carries out a large number of assessment experiments (LEA : Laser Equipment Assessment) for a variety of laser equipment targeting strategic manufacturing areas for Europe.
The benefits of LASHARE are to:
- accelerate the introduction of innovative European laser equipment in strategic manufacturing lines
- strengthen the competitive position of European SME laser suppliers (new markets), and industrial users (increased manufacturing efficiency)
MULTITEL participated to LASHARE through the specific LEA FCPS: Flexible CIGS Photovoltaic Scribing. In the frame of FCPS, MULTITEL developed and assessed, together with LASEA and SSE (Solar Systems and Equipment), a laser equipment for the scribing of thin film solar cells.
The laser, developed by MULTITEL, was integrated at LASEA premises and tested onto SSE samples. The project FCPS permitted to demonstrate the possibility to use a picoseconds laser source for high seed scribing of CIGS, up to 5 m/s. The validation tests realized by SSE prove the ad equation of the laser source to this application field.
Contribution of Multitel
The role of MULTITEL was the providing of the short pulse laser source and the preliminary processing tests with LASEA machine. Then MULTITEL supported the laser installation at LASEA premises and accompanied the companies LASEA and SSE for its utilization.
