MEDIWAN
Implementation in a hospital environment of an advanced digital solution for complex wound management

Objective of the project
Dermatoo, the CHC health group, the experimental medicine laboratory of the ULB located within the Charleroi University Hospital and the Multitel research center have joined forces to clinically validate and implement in real situations a cutting-edge technology in wound care management. This innovative project integrates a mobile application, an imaging device and artificial intelligence into the common work processes of healthcare professionals. The goal is to improve clinical outcomes and simplify wound management with real-time data, high resolution images and personalized treatment recommendations. This collaboration promises to revolutionize wound care and raise the standards of healthcare.
Contribution of Multitel
As part of the MEDIWAN project, Multitel is leveraging to Dermatoo its expertise in image processing and artificial intelligence to optimize the analysis of complex wounds, by developing advanced algorithms allowing automated extraction of relevant clinical parameters within the wound images collected via their mobile application. This structured information facilitates the categorization of wounds according to standardized frameworks and ensures objective monitoring of their evolution.
In close collaboration with Dermatoo, the CHC Health Group and the Laboratory of Experimental Medicine of the ULB, Multitel is working on:
- the optimization of shooting conditions and the pre-processing of images to ensure exploitable and homogeneous quality;
- the validation of the performance of its artificial intelligence algorithms in real clinical environments, in order to ensure the robustness and relevance of the solution in the face of the diversity of cases encountered.
